In KEMA’s desire to better serve our clients, we have found that our clients, especially the multinational ones with manufacturing plants outside of the US, have a need to better monitor their suppliers, especially when the suppliers are outside of the US. The needs may be to minimize risk to business continuity or it may be to a specific product or process that the supplier is having trouble with and is causing nonconformances at our client’s plant. It may also be a new supplier that was recently qualified by our client but needs to be monitored for a brief period of time. In the past, this monitoring may have been performed by our client’s own people but due to limited resources, they need to outsource the audit. Or it may be that their own people are not qualified to audit with the same approach as KEMA, who are already performing ISO 9001 (or similar standard) audits at their plants.
Since KEMA auditors normally audit to management systems standards, we believe we can use those techniques and methods to provide excellent results in auditing suppliers to any specific requirement or standard that our client wants. Since KEMA understands business and the needs of business, we also provide feedback to our client on the risks that the supplier brings to our client using the tools of Major Nonconformances, Minor Nonconformances, Opportunities and Strengths as we do when we audit to ISO 9001.
Whether you are an existing client or a new company, call us to discuss your needs. We will match our auditors with your industry and technology background so they can best develop an auditing plan to match your supplier issues.
