AS9100 rev B has been revised and is now AS9100 C. This new AS9100C standard is considerably different than the previous issue AS9100B. Even the name has changed. AS9100B was titled "Quality Management Systems - Aerospace - Requirements" and AS9100C is now titled "Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations". In other words, the scope of the application of AS9100 has grown considerably from strictly aerospace to include defense ground and sea bound equipment. This broadens the application and market for AS9100 to include the military and defense organizations.
