Since 1927 KEMA has been the product testing and certification company primarily responsible safeguarding the public interest of The Netherlands. In the early 1980s KEMA was asked by the government to be the primary participant in the creation of ISO 9001 and accredited certification schemes for the EU marketplace. KEMA was the first accredited registrar in The Netherlands in 1987 at the time of the publishing of the first ISO 9001 management systems standard.  Since those early days KEMA has certified thousands of companies worldwide from more than 20 international offices.

In 1992 KEMA-Registered Quality, Inc. [KRQ] was established in the US in the Philadelphia suburbs on the site of its short circuit testing laboratory which is the largest lab of its kind in the US. KEMA was invited by its European customers to establish an office in the US for ISO 9000 standards certification.  KRQ is a profitable, stable company with an excellent reputation for certification service value and integrity.

Special programs: We certify several large companies on global basis with special and traditional programs [including ASRP], many multi-sited companies with numerous North American locations, and hundreds of small to medium sized companies in the USA. Our unique process-driven working method allows for a highly customized, partnership approach for delivering the service to our customers.
